February Meeting Recap

Huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our February In-Person Meeting!

We had the incredible honor of recognizing one of our amazing members, David Seery, and his wife, Ashley Seery, for their dedication as mentors with Big Brothers Big Sisters Ventura County. Their commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring!

Big Brothers Big Sisters Ventura County is currently looking for mentors, especially male mentors for youth in our community. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, please reach out to info@bbsvc.org for more information on the application process.

We also had a financial snapshot presentation from our Treasurer, Ben Suber, providing insight into how our dues are allocated. Financial discussions take place at our monthly Board Meetings, which are always open for general members to attend. If you’d like to sit in on a meeting, please contact a board member for the meeting link.

Thank you again to everyone who came out—we appreciate your continued support and engagement!

YES (Youth Empowerment Summit) 2025

Reminder that we are participating in this year's YES 2025 (Youth Empowerment Summit) on March 22nd at CSUCI!

This one-day workshop for high school students will inspire them with exceptional speakers, help them make life-long friends through fun fellowship activities, and allow them to discuss important ethical and social issues. We need volunteers to help in a variety of roles—this is a great opportunity to work with youth within Ventura County!

If you can help out, please reach out to Tim Joyce. nextgenrotarytim@gmail.com

District 5240 Group 4 Updates

Our club is part of Rotary International, a global network of service-driven individuals. Within Rotary, clubs are organized into localized Districts, and we belong to District 5240, which includes clubs along California’s Central Coast, covering San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Kern counties.

Within our district, we are further grouped into Group 4, which includes the Thousand Oaks Rotary Club, Westlake Village Rotary Club, Westlake Village Sunrise Club, and Conejo Valley Rotary Club. We regularly collaborate with these clubs to host impactful service projects and events that strengthen our community.

Check out some of Group 4 upcoming events and projects that we will also be participating in the next couple of months:

Saturday March 8th: District Training Assembly

It will be happening via Zoom from 9:00am - 2:10pm with multiple different break out sessions and keynote speakers. This training is a valuable opportunity for all Rotarians to enhance leadership skills, deepen Rotary knowledge, and refine strategies to help the club grow.
