President: Angelica Macen

I am so excited for the 2024-2025 Rotary year!

Throughout my life I strive to embody the spirit of service in every aspect of what I do. With a passion for helping others and a commitment to making a difference, I am honored to step into the role of president of our wonderful NextGen Rotary club.

This year, my vision is to elevate our impact in the community by increasing our membership, enhancing our visibility in the community, and boosting participation in our service projects. I commit to you that my leadership, compassion, and drive will inspire us all to work together towards not only making a greater impact in our community but also a more supportive, engaging and exciting season of growth within our club.

My door is always open for feedback, discussion and support. I am so appreciative of all of YOUR support and hard work this far. Let’s join together in this exciting journey and make this year our best yet!

President-Elect: Patrick Rankin

My name is Patrick Rankin. My position for this year is President Elect.

Throughout this year, my focus is to learn what it means to take on the role of President of NextGen while partnering with Angelica to ensure the rest of the board is supported and empowered to excel in their positions.

My passions are leadership, service and creating connections. I truly believe that even the most arduous tasks can be made better with the right people around you. Maybe it's a physically demanding service project, maybe it's a rough obstacle to overcome organizationally; whatever the case may be - we'll work better together when we can connect, understand and build relationships.

I envision utilizing the leadership skills I've acquired (and continue to evolve) from my vocation to motivate current club members to participate, attract new like-minded individuals who have a passion for service, and to continue fostering the welcoming, inspiring, forward-thinking culture of the club.
Please never hesitate to reach out. I look forward to connecting and growing with all you over this next year.

Secretary: Madison Lanson

Hi All! Madison Lanson here reporting for Chief of Staff. This will be my second year on the board but a new position for me, and I am excited to be of service in supporting Angelica in her presidency and making sure that things run smoothly. The goal this year is to make sure that everyone is updated with the happenings of the club, with regular emails, in case you miss the meetings.

In addition, I am still working as the Youth Chair member and Interact coordinator. This year we are hoping to solidify work projects for the students and continue to build a sustainable club at Conjeo Valley High School. If you are interested in getting involved with youth, or speaking with in general, please think about joining my committee.

Can't wait for a great 2024-2025 Rotary year.

Treasurer: Ben Suber

My name is Ben Suber and I’m your Treasurer for 2024-2025. This is my second year as Treasurer. As Treasurer, I track all money for the club, levy dues, pay District & RI Dues and ensure all our accounts are up to date.

This year, I want to tighten up the way dues are levied. At the end of 2023-2024, I declared the 16th of every month dues day. I plan to carry this on in the next year. That said, if you don’t get your dues statements by then, don’t be bashful. Let me or Angelica know tout suite!

I also plan to explore ways to accept more payment methods, such as check. ClubRunner only accepts card and I want to see if we can use VenMo or a new system to increase flexibility of payment.
By the way, this is the last year of my term, so if you’re interested in becoming Treasurer, join my committee and you’ll get a first-hand look at the operations!

As for fun, I run a lot (15-40 miles per week) and I get motivation from professional cyclists.
Mental Expectation: a 38 year old in Livigno who finished 3rd in the 2024 Giro d’Italia
Reality: A 1:39:33 half marathon through Cheeseboro Canyon & Shepherd’s Flat

Immediate Past President: Tim Joyce

Tim Joyce - Immediate Past President and Charter Member of Next Gen Rotary.

For the 24-25 Rotary year, I shall serve as International and Foundation Chair, the liaison between our club and the district. A primary goal of mine is to keep our membership updated with the happenings of the greater Rotary ecosystem and provide as many opportunities as possible to demonstrate the why of Rotary.

The duties of an Immediate Past President (IPP) of a Rotary Club typically include the following activities or responsibilities:
  • Advisory Role: I shall guide and support Angelica and the club, drawing on my experience and knowledge from my recently served term.
  • Continuity and Transition: I shall ensure a smooth transition between the outgoing and incoming leadership, helping to maintain continuity in club projects and initiatives.
  • District and Rotary International Involvement: I will engage with district-level activities and initiatives, represent the NextGen club, and maintain connections with Rotary International.
  • Special Projects: Based on my experience and leadership, I may take on special projects or initiatives that Angelica requests, contributing to the club's overall goals.
  • Public Relations: I will assist Allison in promoting the club's activities and enhancing its public image, leveraging my established relationships within our Group 4 Area, and our district of 5240.
In addition to the typical activities, I have made a commitment to Angelica. I will fully support her vision for the year, be available to support club activities, continue to be present at meetings and service projects, mentor new members, participate in Committees, and ensure our club's continued success and growth.

Programing & Events Chair: Dane Zabel

My name is Dane Zabel, and I am going to be your Programming and Events Director! I am very excited to be in this position for the year, and I have some goals to make this the best Rotary Year yet.

My position involves finding exciting and informative speakers for our meetings. I have some connections that I am really looking forward to working with to both speak at our meetings, as well as identifying others that are within our circle that would help us moving forward. I will also love to hear from you all - if you have someone in mind, please either put them in touch with me, or give me their contact information.

Also, I am going to be planning our socials for the year. We've had some great times in the past, and I want YOUR input on things you would like to see happen this year. I want this year to be one that everyone truly gets involved, and the Socials are a great and easy starting point to make that happen.

I am very much looking forward to being on the Board this year, and I hope to see many of you be the building blocks to make this a phenomenal Rotary Year!

Membership Chair: Risa Middleton

My goals for the 2024/2025 Rotary year are to grow the membership base of NextGen Rotary while strengthening our current membership participation. I intend to work closely with other board members on networking events, workshops and collaborations with local businesses to further expand the club’s reach. Finally, I aim to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for current and potential members.

My position as Chair of Membership entails developing and implementing a comprehensive plan for the recruitment, retention, engagement, and welfare of NextGen Rotary members. My role involves ensuring that all focus areas of the membership committee are being effectively implemented and that strategic goals have been set for each focus area. I will actively be participating in all club meetings and events while encouraging members to act as the welcoming committee.

Public Image Chair: Allison Vu

Hi, I'm Allison, serving as the Director of Public Image for my third year. I oversee all of NextGen's social media platforms and our website, ensuring we effectively share our club's stories with the community.

My role includes creating graphics and marketing materials for our events, like Crawl-O-Ween, and capturing photos and videos to enhance our online presence. I also keep our events calendar up-to-date with all our meetings, socials, and community service projects. I also keep our members informed about upcoming events through regular updates and birthday shoutouts on our WhatsApp group chat.

This year, I aim to expand our online presence and increase our club's recognition within the community. Additionally, I'm focused on enhancing communication channels for our members to ensure they are well-informed about upcoming events. This includes introducing tools like newsletters to provide timely and effective updates.

With ever-evolving social media algorithms, expanding our reach has been challenging this year. To enhance our social media presence, I'm looking to involve our members more actively. Managing three different platforms daily can be overwhelming, given my other responsibilities. Members can greatly assist by engaging with our content—sharing photos to their stories, commenting on NextGen posts, or even simply saving our posts can make a significant impact!

Fundraising Chair: Sarah Fultz

Hello everyone, my name is Sarah Fultz, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. This year, I am thrilled to be serving as the fundraising chair. In this role, my primary responsibility is organizing Crawl-o-ween, our biggest and most exciting fundraiser of the year.

But I’m not stopping there—I’m also looking to expand our efforts and introduce at least one more fundraiser. My vision for this year is to not only achieve our fundraising goals but also to create events that bring our community together and generate lasting impact.

I can’t do this alone, and that’s where you come in. I need passionate and dedicated individuals to join my committee and help bring these events to life. Together, we can make this year our best yet. Let’s make a difference together!

Community Service Chair: Amanda Wilson

Hello fellow Rotarians! I’m Amanda Wilson, this year’s Community Service Director. In this role I want to organize and support the club in finding relevant opportunities for each of us to exemplify “Service Above Self”.

This year I would like to focus our community service efforts on fewer projects hopefully allowing us to best respond to the needs of our local community and therefore make lasting improvements to community members’ lives while helping to establish and identify NextGen’s role in this community.
Please reach out now and throughout the year to me directly with service ideas and partners you are passionate about within our community and if you’d like to volunteer to support on a committee.
