Meet Amanda Wilson: NextGen Rotary's Newest Member

We are excited to introduce the newest member of NextGen Rotary, Amanda Wilson. She is a Sr. Program Manager (Aerospace) and is the founder and leader of Braden Believes in Dreams, a local not for profit memorial foundation dedicated to providing scholarships to people looking to pursue further education in arts and/or technology.

On Jan. 5, 2021, 15 year old sophomore High School student, Braden Wilson, succumbed to MIS-C. This is a rare complication of Covid-19 in children. He passed after a short and traumatic battle with Covid-19 only 6 days after his onset of symptoms. Amanda created Braden Believes in Dreams in honor of her son, Braden, "a compassionate young soul who encouraged everyone he encountered to be happy and try for what they wanted. He BELIEVED in DREAMS and we are here to keep his visions of love, hope, and happiness alive."

She has a passion for family, community service, and continuing Braden’s legacy of love and light.

We warmly welcome Amanda Wilson to NextGen Rotary and are eager to see the positive impact she is bound to make within our club.

Why did you decide to join NextGen Rotary?
"I decided to join NextGen because I wanted to re-invigorate my rotary service with a club that best aligns with my outlooks towards service, mentoring, compassion and my overall schedule."

What does Service Above Self mean to you?
"Service Above Self to me means taking thoughtful extra steps to put others first; whether that be fellow members, local community, or strangers in country or farther abroad. I strive to be intentional about doing good in the world starting with areas of closest impact and reaching out globally. I work to put this practice into place as part of my whole self, beyond rotary, with family, friends, work, and daily living."
